Job summary

Mars Petcare seeks a proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer at its Castle Cary facility to maximise plant reliability, efficiency and safety on production lines. You will deliver both planned maintenance and rapid breakdown responses in a site-based role.

You will work with operations to drive continuous improvement, uphold safety and quality standards, and ensure clear shift handovers. Benefits include a welcome bonus and strong career development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Engineer with approved apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, ONC or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience maintaining electrical and mechanical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of HSE guidelines, including Permit to Work, LOTO and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork to handover machinery statuses to operations.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive maintenance, performing PPMs and rapid fault repairs.
• Safety and compliance leadership across the site, aligned with Mars policies.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to reduce downtime.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and CMMS documentation with clear handovers.
