Job summary

Synergi Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer for a busy manufacturing site in the UK. You will be involved in fault finding, breakdown responses, and ongoing maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

The role focuses on improving machine reliability, supporting production, and driving engineering standards across the site, with a continental shift pattern and opportunities for ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding on production equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and restore production quickly.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs).
• Improve machine reliability and participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Support production to minimise downtime and raise engineering standards.

We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site where engineering is seen as a key part of the operation, not just the department that gets called when things go wrong.

You'll be involved in everything from fault finding and breakdowns through to planned maintenance and ongoing improvements across the site.

What you'll be doing

• Electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Responding to breakdowns and getting production back up and running
• Carrying out PPMs
• Working on machine reliability and continuous improvement projects
• Supporting production and minimising downtime
• Helping drive engineering standards across the site

What we're looking for

• Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent)
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Strong fault-finding skills
• Electrical bias would be advantageous
• Someone who enjoys getting stuck in and taking ownership of problems

Backgrounds we'll consider

We're keen to speak to engineers from food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, pharmaceutical, process industries, heavy industry, general manufacturing and ex-forces engineering backgrounds.
