Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is partnering with a stable manufacturing business to recruit for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will join a supportive team and benefit from a structured shift pattern with development opportunities and a clear salary progression after probation.

The role focuses on maintaining a highly automated site, performing planned maintenance, and quickly addressing breakdowns. You will work on conveyors, sorters, robotics, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Level 3 apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLC fault finding via HMI and inverters.
• Mechanical capability including bearings, pneumatics and general maintenance.
• Proactive mindset with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Keep a highly automated production site running efficiently within a close-knit engineering team.
• Carry out planned maintenance to minimise downtime and respond to breakdowns.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects in a modern food manufacturing facility.
• Support maintenance across a wide range of automated machinery including conveyors, sorters and robotics.
• Maintain engineering stores and document all work for clear shift handovers.

What You'll Do:

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping a highly automated production site running efficiently. Working within a close-knit engineering team, you will support both proactive and reactive maintenance across a modern food manufacturing facility.

You will carry out planned maintenance to minimise downtime, respond quickly to breakdowns, and contribute to continuous improvement projects. The role will see you working on a wide range of automated machinery including conveyors, sorters, and robotics, ensuring production targets are consistently met.

You will also be involved in equipment upgrades, maintaining engineering stores, and accurately documenting all work completed to support effective shift handovers.

What You'll Bring:

• Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Strong fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
• Good understanding of PLC fault finding via HMI, and working with inverters
