Job summary

Crompton Technical Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site in Gloucestershire. The role covers both mechanical and electrical maintenance, with a focus on reducing downtime and improving plant performance.

You will work on planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, identify faults, implement improvements, and support site projects while upholding high Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £55,000- £57,000

Hours: Double Day Shift

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established manufacturing business based in the York area that is looking to appoint an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its busy engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining plant performance, minimising downtime and supporting ongoing site improvement projects.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing site through a combination of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance in line with established schedules.
• Responding to reactive maintenance requirements to minimise production downtime and disruption.
• Supporting engineering activities focused on improving plant and equipment performance.
• Identifying technical issues and implementing effective engineering solutions.
• Supporting and overseeing engineering improvement projects across the site.
• Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of engineering standards for key equipment and facilities.
• Promoting and maintaining high standards of Health & Safety at all times.
• Supporting site development projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Providing engineering support to colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background gained within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment, with experience across both mechanical and electrical machinery.

You will be a hands-on, practical engineer who is confident diagnosing faults, resolving breakdowns and identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance.
