Job summary

Pioneer Selection - Manufacturing & Industry Recruitment Specialists is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer for our Newport, Monmouthshire site. The role covers a fast-paced FMCG production environment with PLC updates (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley) and increasing engineering support to meet growing demand.

You will maintain across three buildings, handling PPMs and breakdowns, supporting facilities, and driving improvements in reliability, hygiene, quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a formal engineering qualification NVQ Level 3 or higher (Electrical or Mechanical).
• Apprenticeship / ONC background is desirable.
• Ex-Forces backgrounds welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance across the site, covering a mix of PPM and breakdowns.
• Support facilities and site services.
• Resolve breakdowns quickly and complete planned maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement in reliability, hygiene, quality and performance.

Job Title: Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer
Location: Newport, Monmouthshire
Salary: £42,892 + 2.5–5% annual bonus
Shift: 3-shift rota (40 hours) – 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am (nights 1 in 3 with shift premium included)

A fantastic opportunity which is not to be missed by a strong Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer has come to the forefront at a well-established FMCG Food Manufacturing site. This is an exciting time to join a fast-paced production environment that has seen continued investment, including upgrades to PLC systems (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley), and is expanding engineering support due to increased demand.

As the Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing an effective maintenance service across the site, covering a mix of PPM and breakdowns, as well as supporting facilities and site services. You'll be working across a site with three buildings, supporting production by resolving breakdowns quickly, completing planned maintenance, and driving continuous improvement in reliability, hygiene, quality, and performance.

You will be buddied up on day shift for the first 2 months to support onboarding and site familiarisation.
