Job summary

CV Technical LTD in Merthyr Tydfil is recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a busy food manufacturing site. The role provides hands-on maintenance across a fast-paced production environment, ensuring machinery remains safe, reliable and operational.

The successful candidate will be multi-skilled with a strong electrical/mechanical background, and PLC experience would be advantageous. The position operates on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose and fault find electrical and mechanical issues.
• Minimise production downtime through effective fault finding and repairs.
• Work with PLC controlled machinery and automated equipment.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with procedures.

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy food manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil.

The role will provide hands on maintenance support across a fast paced production environment, ensuring machinery and equipment remain safe, reliable and operational.

The successful candidate will be multi skilled, with a strong electrical and/or mechanical background, and have previous experience working within a manufacturing environment. Food or meat processing experience would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
• Diagnose and fault find electrical and mechanical issues
• Minimise production downtime through effective fault finding and repairs
• Work with PLC controlled machinery and automated equipment
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures

The Candidate

• Multi Skilled Engineering apprenticeship
• Electrical and/or Mechanical qualification
• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding skills
• PLC experience would be advantageous
• Experience within food or meat manufacturing would be beneficial
• Proactive, hands on approach with the ability to work independently
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights
