Job summary

CV TECHNICAL LTD in Irvine, Scotland is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a full-time, shift-based role. You will maintain and repair production equipment, carry out PPM tasks, and support continuous improvements to maximise uptime.

The ideal candidate has mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or apprenticeship) and strong fault-finding skills, with knowledge of PLCs and pneumatic systems, plus CMMS experience. Full UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (HNC/HND, Time-Served Apprenticeship, or equivalent).
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, GMP or similar high-volume environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of PLCs, inverters, electrical controls and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and troubleshoot production equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise workload.
• Support production by minimising downtime and maximising equipment performance.
• Participate in an on-call rota as required.
• Complete engineering projects assigned by management.
• Work with suppliers to improve service levels and reduce costs.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety and site procedures.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production and process manufacturing equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise workload effectively.
• Support production by minimising downtime and maximising equipment performance.
• Participate in an on-call rota as required.
• Complete engineering projects assigned by management.
• Work closely with suppliers to improve service levels and reduce costs.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.

About You

Desirable Experience

• Multi-skilled engineering background.
• Experience working on COMAH-regulated sites.
• Previous experience in continuous-process manufacturing environments.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant engineering experience.
