Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd in Cardiff, Wales, is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a successful, market-leading team. You will maintain and improve plant and machinery, with a bias toward electrical systems (60/40 mechanical) and a focus on reducing scrap and optimizing line utilization.

The role requires apprentice training / NVQ Level 3 and experience in manufacturing, with strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained with NVQ Level 3 in engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plant and machinery.
• Identify production improvements to reduce scrap and increase line utilization.
• Support engineering team on projects; work with gearboxes, pumps, motors, PLCs and conveyors.

£49,500 - £57,500, depending on experience + Company benefits (Profit share, pension etc)

Salary & Benefits:

• Support the engineering team by carrying out systematic tasks and continuous improvements to plant and machinery to improve existing manufacturing processes.
• Use initiative to identify areas that will improve the production performance, line utilisation and focus on reducing scrap levels.
• Provide maintenance support regarding projects.
• Work on a large variety of equipment including - gear boxes, pumps, motors, bearings, drives, inverters, relays, sensors, conveyor systems and PLC’s.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Multi skilled engineer - ideally electrical bias but will consider mechanical bias. 60:40 split
• Apprentice trained / NVQ Level 3
• Worked within manufacturing.
• Strong problem solving/fault finding ability and experience.
