Job summary

The Oval Partnership is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for our modern FMCG site in Fife. You will maintain automated production equipment, perform reactive and preventive maintenance, and drive reliability and OEE improvements.

We offer a rotating 3-week shift pattern (days), a salary of £43,000–£46,000, overtime at 1.25x, enhanced sick pay, life insurance and company perks. You will join a fast-paced, collaborative engineering team focused on safety, GMP and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A recognised Electrical and/or Mechanical qualification is required.
• An engineering apprenticeship is desirable.
• At least three years' maintenance engineering experience in automated environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and fault finding to minimise downtime.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) per schedules.
• Diagnose faults on electrical and mechanical equipment across automated lines.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and improvements of machinery.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and OEE.
• Collaborate with production and other sites to support performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensure work adheres to health & Safety, GMP, and hygiene standards.

Education

Electrical/Mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds)

Shift Pattern: Rotating 3-week shift pattern (days only)

• Week 1: 5:00am - 1:30pm
• Week 2: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• Week 3: 1:00pm - 9:30pm

An established and growing food manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team at a modern, highly automated production facility in Fife. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where reliability, continuous improvement and teamwork are key. You'll play a vital role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently while contributing to ongoing engineering projects and site improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and fault finding to minimise production downtime.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in line with maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults across automated production equipment.
• Assist with the installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of new and existing machinery.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Work closely with production and other site departments to support operational performance.
• Accurately complete maintenance records and engineering documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely while maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, GMP and hygiene compliance.
• Contribute ideas and practical solutions to improve engineering processes and site performance.

Requirements

• A recognised Electrical and/or Mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• A completed engineering apprenticeship (desirable).
• At least three years' maintenance engineering experience within an automated manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, beverage or another fast-paced production environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• A positive attitude with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a genuine passion for engineering.
