Shift Mechanical Fitter

3 week Rotating Pattern - Days & Nights (06:00 to 18:00 & 18:00 to 06:00). No Sunday working & work 1 in every 3 Saturdays.

Location: Burton upon Trent

Salary: £47,598 (inclusive of 20% shift allowance) + benefits

Role Overview

The Mechanical Fitter will provide engineering support and maintenance services across the Burton manufacturing site. The primary focus is on Planned Preventative Maintenance and Breakdown Response on process equipment in production and support areas. The goal is to maintain equipment effectively and carry out breakdowns and repairs efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for planned and reactive maintenance activities at the Burton site.
2. Deliver work within the departmental budget.
3. Ensure maintenance spares are available as required.
4. Develop and implement core maintenance processes and procedures.
5. Meet site KPIs such as H&S, production TME, CI & 8D.
6. Complete maintenance schedules according to the plan.
7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and corporate standards.
8. Seek to add value, improve efficiency, and reduce wastage through lean principles.
9. Liaise with other functions like central engineering and EHSQ.
10. Perform other tasks as necessary within capability.

Required Skills

• Maintenance background (mechanical or electrical, City & Guilds).
• Proficient in core mechanical/electrical workshop skills.
• Experience with CMMS, ideally SAP - PM Module.
• Experience with contractor control systems.
• Experience working with CI to enhance performance.
