Job summary

Kirklees Council is seeking a Joiner to travel across Kirklees and surrounding areas, delivering repairs and refurbishment to domestic properties, schools and public buildings. You will work flexibly, with annual hours, possibly overtime and on-call rota, and use a handheld device to keep records.

The ideal candidate will have City & Guilds Advanced Craft or NVQ Level 3 in Joinery or an NVQ Level 2 with extensive experience, and multi-skilled capabilities. A valid UK driving licence is assumed.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Advanced Craft or NVQ Level 3 in Joinery or NVQ Level 2 in Joinery with extensive post-qualification experience.
• Experience of working in tenanted properties, public buildings and schools.
• Capable of fitting kitchens; tiling in kitchens desirable.
• Must be able to install fire doors to agreed specifications.
• Additional multi-skilled experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Travel across Kirklees and surrounding areas to deliver duties and meet business needs.
• Work across voids, responsives and compliance teams on maintenance, repair, refurbishment and renewal work.
• Use a handheld device to keep relevant records and ensure information is up-to-date.
• Build and maintain effective relationships and represent Kirklees Council with internal and external clients.
• Maintain excellent communication and customer care with a range of customers and clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation in line with core behaviours and values.
