Job summary

Your Housing Group in the North West is seeking a Multi-Skilled Joiner/Floor Layer to deliver joinery and flooring repairs and replacements across residential properties. The role is based on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, covering Warrington and Wigan with travel across the North West when needed.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent recognised qualification(s).
  • Full UK Driving Licence (ideally no more than 6 points).
  • Experience working safely at height.
  • Experience in property maintenance and repair to a high standard.
  • Experience in additional trades beneficial.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Joiner/Floor Layer to join Your Housing Groups Repairs and Maintenance Division and provide a high-quality Joinery and Floor Laying, repairs and replacement service. This role sits within our Responsive Repairs Team, covering our homes across the North West region. You will work closely with colleagues from a variety of trade backgrounds to deliver planned and responsive maintenance works to our customers. What will my working week look like? This role is based on a 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. You will work within the Warrington and Wigan area and also be able to cover properties across the North West region. You will also need to live within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training courses when needed.

What will I be responsible for doing? First and foremost, you will be responsible for carrying out Joinery and flooring repairs and replacements to a wide range of residential properties One of the great things about this role is the variety of work involved. You'll be working across multiple locations, diagnosing issues, carrying out repairs, and helping to proactively prevent future maintenance problems. No two days are the same, and you'll be able to see first-hand the positive impact your work has on our customers. In addition, you will:

  • Carry out inspections
  • Identify defects, recommend and complete appropriate repairs.
  • Complete maintenance works where required.
  • Use access equipment and work safely at height in accordance with company procedures.
  • Record completed works accurately using our job management system.
  • Ensure that company vehicles, equipment and tools are in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and represent Your Housing Group professionally at all times.
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent recognised qualification(s)
  • Experience working safely at height and using appropriate access equipment.
  • Experience in carrying out property maintenance and repair works to a high standard.
  • Experience in additional trades would be highly beneficial.
  • Basic health and safety knowledge within a repairs and maintenance environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • You will have a full UK Driving License (ideally no more than 6 points)
