Mears Group PLC is seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Operative to support a busy responsive repairs contract across Pontefract, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and surrounding areas. The role covers carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and more, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer service in residents' homes.

You will work across occupied properties, handling day-to-day repair requests, complete duties with professionalism, and contribute to meeting service targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in repairs and maintenance across multiple trades.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good time management and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across void social housing properties.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames.
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors.
• Repair or replace internal doors, handles, locks and hinges.
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks and dripping taps.
• Carry out patch plastering and make good damaged walls/ceilings.
