Job summary

Mears Group is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Operative to support a busy responsive repairs contract in Medway. You will carry out repairs across carpentry, plumbing, plastering and tiling in occupied properties with a focus on safety, quality and customer service.

This role offers a structured rota and a company van with fuel card. The ideal candidate has proven domestic repairs experience across multiple trades, a full UK driving licence, and a commitment to delivering high standards while

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic repairs across multiple trades (carpentry/plumbing/plastering/tiling).
• Ability to work in occupied homes and adapt to repair priorities.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across social housing properties
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves and door frames
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors
• Repair internal doors, handles, locks and hinges
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues (leaks, taps)
• Carry out plastering and make good damaged walls/ceilings
• Tile walls/ floors and apply grout/sealant
• Paint/decorate to a professional finish after repairs
• Record job details and materials used on handheld devices
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle
• Manage daily workload to meet service targets
• Attend out-of-hours emergency rota
