Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a reliable General Maintenance Operative with plumbing knowledge to support maintenance tasks across a single site of 30+ buildings.

The role involves independent and collaborative work to deliver planned, reactive and remedial tasks on time, while strictly adhering to health and safety regulations. Main duties include carrying out planned preventive maintenance, plumbing repairs, leak diagnosis, and urgent call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on engineering services.
• Perform weekly flushing, monthly tap temperatures and replace aerators per schedule.
• Maintain plumbing fixtures such as sinks, baths, showers, and toilets.
• Diagnose and repair leaks.
• Attend emergencies and faults as required.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to resolve issues.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious General Maintenance Operative with plumbing knowledge to support maintenance and repair tasks across a single site of over 30 different buildings.

The role involves working independently and collaboratively to deliver planned, reactive and remedial tasks on time, whilst strictly adhering to health and safety regulations.

Main Duties

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on engineering services as required and in line with skills set
• Include weekly flushing, monthly tap temperatures, maintaining and replacing tap aerators as well as any other PPM tasks as required
• perform scheduled maintenance service on basic plumbing and fixtures as directed, repair and maintain sinks, baths, showers and toilets.
• diagnose and repair leaks
• attend emergencies as required, including blocked pipes and toilets
• attend all other faults / call outs as requested.

Experience of building maintenance and handyman duties

• good understanding of health and safety requirements withing a building environment
• have a proactive approach to maintenance and building management
