Job summary

A leading manufacturing business in Doncaster is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join their Engineering team. Salary £45,615 per annum (including 15% shift allowance).

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep production equipment running efficiently. Based at the Doncaster site, you will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, support continuous improvement, and work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification (BTEC, ONC or equivalent).
• Experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Maintaining conveyors, elevators, palletisers, packaging equipment and other production machinery.
• Installing, servicing and modifying mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
• Working closely with Production teams to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
• Completing maintenance records and ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards.

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join their Engineering team in Doncaster.

Whether your background is mechanically or electrically biased, you'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

• Monday – Thursday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am
• Friday: 6am-12pm / 12pm-6pm / 6pm-12am
• 26 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays

• Buy or sell up to 5 days' holiday after your first full year

• No travel to other sites – you'll be based at the Doncaster site

The Role

The Role as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding quickly to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities include:

About You

We're looking for candidates with:

• A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification (BTEC, ONC or equivalent).
• Experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG or another fast‑paced production environment.
• Experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
• A proactive approach with excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, conveyors, packaging machinery or automated production equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
