Job summary

Meridian Business Support client in Doncaster is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join their engineering team. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment, improving uptime and reliability.

The position offers a 38-hour week, rotating 3-shift pattern, salary £45,615 including 15% shift allowance, 26 days leave plus bank holidays, pension contributions, and opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification.
• Experience as Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience in manufacturing FMCG or fast-paced production environment.
• Experience with planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems including pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Proactive with problem-solving and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, conveyors or packaging machinery advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Maintaining conveyors, elevators, palletisers, packaging equipment and other production machinery.
• Installing, servicing and modifying mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
• Working closely with Production teams to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
• Completing maintenance records and ensuring all work complies with health, safety and quality standards.

£45,615 per annum (including 15% Shift Allowance)

Permanent | 38 Hours Per Week | Rotating 3-Shift Pattern

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join their Engineering team in Doncaster.

Whether your background is mechanically or electrically biased, you'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

• Monday - Thursday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am
• Friday: 6am-12pm / 12pm-6pm / 6pm-12am

Key responsibilities include:

About You

We're looking for candidates with:

• A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification (BTEC, ONC or equivalent).
• Experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced production environment.
• Experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
• A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, conveyors, packaging machinery or automated production equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
