Job summary

Finsbury Food Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer to manage both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production equipment in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs and keep CMMS records (Mainsaver). You’ll support improvements to machinery and processes while upholding Food Safety, Health & Safety and GMP standards. This hands-on role also involves coaching operators in basic asset care.

Qualifications

• Qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills.
• Essential qualifications: Electrical Apprenticeship, SVQ, or HNC.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment (food production preferred).
• Skilled in planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Competent with CMMS systems, ideally Mainsaver.
• Strong understanding of Food Safety, Health & Safety, and GMP.
• Hands-on, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communicator with clear, concise reporting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose faults, repair machinery, and identify root causes.
• Record activity, duration, and materials in CMMS (Mainsaver).
• Manage engineering spares and support maintenance projects.
• Propose improvements to machinery, lines and processes.
• Report unscheduled downtime and corrective actions to the Engineering Shift Lead.
• Maintain GMP housekeeping and coach operators in basic asset care.
