Job description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a bias towards MEP or HVAC to provide high-quality building maintenance support to our client. The role requires a good understanding of Electrical, BMS, & Fire systems, plumbing, and building fabric repairs. You will be part of a multi-skilled technical team ensuring contractual compliance and regulatory standards, supervising subcontractors, and maintaining statutory obligations.

1. Maintain Mechanical and HVAC systems in optimal condition, ensuring compliance with contractual and legislative standards.
2. Manage a team of 3 site engineers, overseeing all engineering tasks and ensuring timely completion.
3. Perform Planned and Reactive maintenance tasks in line with KPIs.
4. Supervise subcontractors, ensuring adherence to H&S legislation.
5. Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (2 weeks off, 1 week on).
6. Prioritize workload efficiently, follow business continuity plans, and ensure all assets are maintained per O&M manuals and safety legislation.
7. Undertake repairs and maintenance, ensuring reactive calls are responded to within contractual response times.
8. Record work accurately and maintain cleanliness and safety of plant and equipment.
9. Possess time-served apprenticeships or NVQ in Carpentry/Joinery, with a commitment to customer service and safety legislation.
10. Be physically capable of handling tools up to 20kg, working at heights, and hold a full UK driving license.
