Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Operative to support electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault diagnosis across multiple sites in the Burton End area.

You will read and follow technical drawings, carry out testing and repairs, and use test equipment safely while adhering to lockout/tagout procedures and high safety standards.

The role offers varied, hands-on work with opportunities to develop electrical knowledge within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant and controls.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and maintenance instructions.
• Self-motivated, well-organised and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an Electrical Maintenance Operative to support electrical installation, maintenance, testing, fault diagnosis and repair activities across various sites, ensuring all planned and remedial works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Role Responsibilities:

• Complete electrical installations and support tradespeople with wiring, calibration and alignment tasks across a range of site-based activities.
• Carry out electrical testing, fault diagnosis, repairs and updates to maintenance work orders in line with operational requirements.
• Use appropriate test equipment, tools and materials safely, ensuring their limitations are understood and applied correctly.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures at all times, ensuring no live working is undertaken under any circumstances.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, work safely across all tasks and actively participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

• Qualified to BS 7671 18th Edition in Electrical Installations.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant, controls and safe working practices.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, procedures and maintenance instructions accurately.
• Self-motivated, well-organised and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Professional, respectful and confident in raising safety concerns when required.
