Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to support critical building services at Basingstoke Council Offices. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance to keep facilities running efficiently and safely.

You will diagnose faults in electrical and building systems, perform minor electrical works, and oversee subcontractors. A UK driving licence and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills with building services plant
• Knowledge of health & safety legislation, safe systems of work, and CAFM systems
• Full UK driving licence with good communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on electrical and building services systems.
• Deliver minor electrical installation works and support lifecycle and small project activities.
• Supervise subcontractors, manage permits to work, and ensure H&S compliance.
• Complete CAFM records accurately while maintaining client and occupant relationships.

We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) who will help maintain critical building services, deliver planned and reactive maintenance, and support the efficient operation of a key public sector facility.

Role Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on electrical and building services systems.
• Deliver minor electrical installation works and support lifecycle and small project activities.
• Supervise subcontractors, manage permits to work, and ensure compliance with health & safety procedures.
• Complete CAFM records accurately while building strong relationships with the client and building occupants.

Required Qualifications: applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

• Recognised Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience within commercial building maintenance or facilities management environments.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills with experience of building services plant.
• Good understanding of health & safety legislation, safe systems of work, and CAFM systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence with strong communication and customer service skills.
