Job summary

Mitie Group plc in Yeovil is seeking a Multi-skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias to deliver reactive and proactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical disciplines for a key client. The role focuses on reliability, safety, and compliance with up-to-date engineering standards.

You will read technical drawings, carry out modifications and installations when required, and work within a team to meet KPIs while maintaining quality and environmental, health and safety practices.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline) as requirement.
• 17th or 18th Edition and related training.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service covering electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Carry out modifications and installations; maintain, repair and calibrate plant to optimise reliability.
• Ensure KPIs are met and liaise with contractors/suppliers as required.
• Complete all paperwork and produce reports accurately and timely.
• Perform work to high standards following company policies and safety/environmental guidelines.

ROLE: Multi-skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias
HOURS: 40Hrs
LOCATION: Yeovil

We're looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias to work with a key Mitie client to conduct work that provides a multi-skilled maintenance service covering electrical and mechanical disciplines, delivering reactive and proactive maintenance in line with site requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service covering both electrical and mechanical disciplines, delivering reactive and proactive maintenance in line with site requirements.
• Carry out modifications and installations when required, and maintain, repair and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimise reliability and maintainability.
• Ensure all key performance indicators are met and liaise with contractors or external suppliers where required.
• Complete all required paperwork and produce reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Carry out all work to a high standard in line with current company policies and procedures, reporting any deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety or the environment, ensuring all work is completed in a safe and diligent manner.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

• 17th or 18th Edition and NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline) or equivalent, with appropriate up-to-date training.
• Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance and responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
