Zenith Advisory Partners Ltd on behalf of a leading UK food manufacturer in Wellingborough is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer. The role is days-based (6am–2pm, Monday to Friday) with a strong salary of £48,750 plus overtime.

• Carry out PLC fault-finding with support from contractors as needed.
• Contribute to improvement projects and spare parts control.

Our client is a household-name food manufacturer, producing some of the UK’s best-known brands from a large, well-invested site in Wellingborough. They’re recruiting two Multiskilled Maintenance Engineers to join an established engineering team on a days-only pattern (6am–2pm, Monday to Friday), a rare chance to get off shifts without compromising on salary.

Your New Job

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll join a team of six engineers, supported by a Team Leader, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across two large production units. Day to day you’ll work on motors, bucket elevators, drag chain and screw conveyors, pneumatics, some hydraulics, compressors and blowers, plus light fabrication and welding and some first-line PLC fault-finding. You’ll also contribute to improvement projects, spares control and the site’s maintenance system. Specialist equipment is supported by established contractors, and the plant is well run, with unplanned downtime of just 2.5–3.5% last year.

Your Experience and Requirements

ZAP are searching for candidates with a strong maintenance background in a manufacturing environment, ideally fully multiskilled. Electrical or mechanically biased engineers will also be considered, as the business will upskill the right person to full multiskilled standard.
