Job summary

Marshalls plc, the UK's leading supplier of hard landscaping, is recruiting an Electrical Engineer to ensure continuous production. You will fault-find and maintain electrical equipment, with exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and robotics.

The role requires NVQ 3 in electrical, apprentice training, and 18th edition wiring regs. This position offers growth within a supportive engineering team, with a clear development path and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Strong electrical knowledge with some mechanical experience.
  • NVQ 3 electrical or equivalent preferred.
  • Apprentice trained and qualified to the 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • PLC fault finding experience advantageous.
  • Experience with robots and automated plant/machinery.
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication and machining.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous production by minimizing downtime through fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance on electrical systems controlling hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyors.
  • Work safely and methodically on site to support production goals.

So, what's the mission?
Working as part of the team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating engineering downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment reactive engineering activities on site.
What are the mission critical skills?
  • A strong electrical working knowledge with some mechanical experience
  • The ideal applicant will be a qualified, time served in a similar position ideally at NVQ 3 level
  • Ideally apprentice trained and qualified to the 18th edition wiring regulations
  • PLC fault finding skills would be a distinct advantage
  • Working knowledge of robots and automated process plant & machinery
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication and general machining would be an advantage
  • Experienced in reactive and planned maintenance of electrical systems controlling hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors (belts, chain, rollers, bearings, gear boxes, motors etc.), and able to read technical drawings
