Job summary

Marshalls plc, the UK’s leading manufacturer of hard landscaping and building products, is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a continental shift pattern (4 on 4 off) covering days and nights at our Cheshire site. You will help keep production running by fault finding and maintaining electrical/electronic control systems.

You’ll work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, carry out planned and reactive maintenance, and contribute to a safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained in a similar position.
  • Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3, 18th Edition or equivalent) desirable.
  • Good understanding of environmental and health and safety issues and regulatory requirements.
  • Practical hands-on approach with electrical fault finding and routine maintenance.
  • Experience with PLC/VSD knowledge is advantageous.
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous running of the production process by fault finding and maintenance.
  • Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities on site.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance and production teams.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Working a continental shift pattern, 4 on 4 off covering both days and nights, 6:30am to 6:30pm
Keule, Cheshire
£55,176 per annum (including shift allowance) + overtime (paid at premium) + benefits

Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer
So what's the mission?

Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You will work on various different types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site. The shift pattern is 4 on 4 off covering both days and nights, 6:30am to 6:30pm.

What are the mission-critical skills?
  • Apprentice trained in a similar position ideally
  • Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3, 18th Edition or equivalent is desirable)

  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
  • PLC And VSD Knowledge is advantageous
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics will be an advantage
