Job summary

Marshalls plc in Eaglescliffe is seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to keep the production line running. You will work 42 hours per week on 12-hour shifts (days and nights), 4 on/4 off, 6:00am–6:00pm. The role offers a competitive salary including shift allowance and benefits.

The ideal candidate has strong electrical knowledge, time-served engineering experience, and holds NVQ Level 3 with 18th edition wiring regs. PLC fault-finding and robotics experience are highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Qualified, time-served engineer in a similar role (NVQ 3 preferred).
  • Apprentice trained with 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Experience with PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley).
  • Robotics and automated process plant experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous running of production by eliminating downtime and performing fault finding and maintenance.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance on site and support ongoing improvements.
  • Read technical drawings and carry out mechanical fitting, welding and fabrication as needed.

We're looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the team and play a key role in shaping innovative solutions and supporting our long-term success.

So, what's the mission?

Working as part of the team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating engineering downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment reactive engineering activities on site.

What are the mission-critical skills?
  • A strong electrical working knowledge with some mechanical experience
  • The ideal applicant will be a qualified, time served engineer in a similar position ideally at NVQ 3 level
  • Ideally apprentice trained and qualified to the 18th edition wiring regulations
  • PLC fault finding skills are highly desirable (Siemens, Allen Bradley etc.)
  • Working knowledge of robots and automated process plant & machinery
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication and general machining would be an advantage
  • Experienced in reactive and planned maintenance of electrical systems controlling hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors (belts, chain, rollers, bearings, gear boxes, motors etc.), and able to read technical drawings
