Job summary

Argon Engineering Limited is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias preferred) for our Wrexham site. The role involves maintaining and improving production equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on reliability and safety.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid electrical or mechanical background, relevant engineering qualifications, and hands-on experience with PLC systems.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical or mechanical background.
• NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing environment (food/FMCG desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose and fault-find on electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Work on a range of food production and packaging machinery.
• Minimise downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety and health & safety standards.
• Assist with installations, upgrades, and project work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Salary: £48500 per annum

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (12-hour shifts - Days & Nights)

About the Role We are working with a well-established food manufacturing business in Wrexham who are looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their on-site engineering team.

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of PLC systems (fault finding advantageous)
• Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards within manufacturing
• Ability to work a rotating days and nights shift pattern
