Job summary

Henderson Brown Recruitment represents a well-renowned food manufacturer recruiting a Maintenance Engineer based in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester.

The role focuses on maintaining, improving and optimising manufacturing equipment and site services for maximum reliability and performance, with a shift pattern of 2 days/2 nights/4 off. PLC fault finding and RCA are key requirements, with NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds qualifications expected.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds).
• Experience in fast paced industries such as food, packaging or wider FMCG.
• Good problem solving skills and a clear understanding of Root Cause Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment used in food production whilst complying with health and safety requirements.
• Perform both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on minimising downtime
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations
• Conduct fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Confident with PLC fault finding.

Job description

We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a well-renowned food manufacturer for a Multi-skilled Engineer. This role involves maintaining, improving, and optimising manufacturing equipment and site services to maximum reliability and performance. The ideal candidate would be either electrically biased or multi-skilled and have experience across food, packaging or wider FMCG.

Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £58,097.18

Location: Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester

Shift Pattern: 2 days/2 nights/4 off

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment used in food production whilst complying with health and safety requirements.
• Perform both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on minimising downtime
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations
• Conduct fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Confident with PLC fault finding

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role (e.g. Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Electrical Maintenance Engineer)
• Formal qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds), supported by relevant training and experience.
• Experience in fast paced industries such as food, packaging or wider FMCG.
• Good problem solving skills and a clear understanding of Root Cause Analysis.
• Strong understanding of PLC's, sensors and automated equipment
