Job summary

GAP Group in Peterhead is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to service and maintain on-site equipment, including pumps, water treatment systems and generators. You will oversee all GAP equipment on the site and respond to breakdowns with a focus on safety and reliability.

This site-based role requires proven mechanical fitters or diesel technicians, a valid driving licence, and a willingness to relocate if needed. GAP Group offers opportunities for development and internal progression.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanical engineer, fitter or diesel technician.
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses, water treatment systems or generators.
• Experience within the plant or hire industry would be beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work under pressure.
• Customer-focused approach and a committed team player.
• A valid driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine service and maintenance on GAP equipment on site.
• Attend breakdowns across the site and identify/repair faults.
• Update service records accurately and maintain equipment logs.

GAP Pumps, Power & Environmental Division provides advice, servicing, maintenance and repair for generators, dewatering & sewerage pump applications. This includes a large range of hoses, settlement tanks and water processing solutions.

As a Multi Skilled Engineer you will be based on site at one of major account customers in Peterhead. You will be responsible for overseeing all GAP equipment across the site, including water treatment systems, pumps, generators and plant.

You will be responsible for carrying out routine service and maintenance, including safety checks, as well as attending breakdowns across the site. You will identify and repair any faults or damage to all equipment whilst accurately updating service records.

**Please note, this role is a site based position near Peterhead and so candidates should be suitably located. However, we would also consider those willing to relocate to the area.**

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

• Proven experience as a mechanical engineer, fitter or diesel technician
• Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses, water treatment systems or generators is highly desirable
• Experience within the plant or hire industry would be highly beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
• A customer-focussed approach workload and committed team player
• A valid driving licence is
