David Wood Baking Ltd in Bolton is recruiting experienced Shift Engineers across multi-skilled, electrical and mechanical disciplines to maintain and optimise a busy production site. You will be time-served with NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds, and with FMCG manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities include planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs on motors, drives, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics, plus PLC fault finding and control systems.

Competenze

• Time-served Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineer
• Manufacturing or FMCG experience essential
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
• Good understanding of Health & Safety
• Flexible approach to shift working

SHIFT ENGINEERS - MULTI-SKILLED / ELECTRICAL / MECHANICAL

Location: Sidney Street, BL3 6BG

Salary: £55,000

Shifts: Days & Nights: 06:00-18:00 / 18:00-06:00

Due to continued growth and investment, David Wood Baking is looking for experienced Multi-Skilled (Mechanical & Electrical) Shift Engineers to join our engineering team.

David Wood Baking is a food manufacturing organisation with a site based in Bolton. We have over 20 years experience in the food business, and currently produce a range of quality products for the retail and food service industry from seven high-tech factories.

In the last 12 months, we have invested heavily in our plant and team and we are now looking to expand our engineering team, by seeking experienced multi-skilled Shift Engineers to join the team.

MULTI-SKILLED ENGINEER

• Planned and reactive maintenance across the site
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
• Breakdown response to minimise production downtime
• Maintenance of motors, drives, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

• Planned and reactive maintenance of production machinery
• Fault finding and repair of bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and conveyors
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Welding, fabrication and machining
• Identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

• Electrical fault finding and repair of production equipment
• PLC fault finding and control systems
• Motors, drives, control panels and instrumentation
• Electrical installation and testing
• Support planned maintenance and reliability improvements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Time-served Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineer
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent is essential
• Manufacturing or FMCG experience is essential
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
• Good understanding of Health & Safety
• Flexible approach to shift working
