Job summary

David Wood Baking Ltd in Workington is seeking experienced Shift Engineers (multi-skilled, electrical or mechanical) to join our engineering team. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance across the site with a salary of £47,000–£54,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Time-served experience in mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled engineering.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications in engineering.
• Manufacturing or FMCG experience is desirable.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive maintenance across the site.

SHIFT ENGINEERS - MULTI-SKILLED / ELECTRICAL / MECHANICAL

£47,000-£54,000 per annum

Days & Nights: 6am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am

Due to continued growth and investment, David Wood Baking is looking for experienced Mechanical, Electrical and Multi-Skilled Shift Engineers to join our engineering team.

MULTI-SKILLED ENGINEER

• Planned and reactive maintenance across the site
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
• Breakdown response to minimise production downtime
• Maintenance of motors, drives, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

• Planned and reactive maintenance of production machinery
• Fault finding and repair of bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and conveyors
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Welding, fabrication and machining
• Identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

• Electrical fault finding and repair of production equipment
• PLC fault finding and control systems
• Motors, drives, control panels and instrumentation
• Electrical installation and testing
• Support planned maintenance and reliability improvements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Time-served Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineer
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent
• Manufacturing or FMCG experience
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
• Good understanding of Health & Safety
• Flexible approach to shift working
