Job summary
United in Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer based at our client's site in Stockport. You will take a proactive, hands‑on role, reporting to the Production Manager and driving electrical maintenance across fabric inspection, packing equipment, cutting machines, stenter ovens and related peripherals.
You’ll install armoured cabling, lighting and power, complete PPM schedules, and assist with installation and commissioning of new plant.
Qualifications
- Apprentice-trained or equivalent, with NVQ Level 3 in electrical maintenance or installation
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to interpret schematic drawings
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment—ideally textiles or a paper mill
Responsibilities
- Electrical maintenance and repairs across a diverse range of machinery (fabric inspection, packing equipment, fabric cutting machines, stenter ovens, unwinders, coating heads, Pleva weight monitoring, rewind systems)
- Electrical installation work across the site (armoured cabling, lighting and power installations) and completing PPM activities
- Support installation and commissioning of new plant and machinery
- Proactive, hands-on role reporting to Production Manager; identifying issues and recommending corrective actions
