Job summary

Grassroots Recruitment Ltd. in Stockport is looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s manufacturing operation. You will support reliability, performance and safety of a varied range of production machinery on-site.

The role requires strong mechanical or electrical maintenance skills, a hands-on proactive attitude, and a commitment to learning. Training and development are provided within a stable manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Maintenance/ manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong mechanical or electrical maintenance skills with exposure to the other.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Experience with industrial machinery; CNC exposure useful.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, gearboxes, automation.
• Apprentice-trained or qualified in mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled engineering.
• PLC experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and react to breakdowns.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Maintain CNC machines, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and gearboxes.
• Support PLC-controlled automation and robotics where needed.
• Contribute to projects and continuous improvement for reliability.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and follow procedures.
• Collaborate with production to keep equipment safe and productive.
• Promote health and safety across maintenance work.
