Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is recruiting for an Area Relief Officer to cover a defined group of court and tribunal sites across Teesside. The role requires flexibility to support daily operations with a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, across multiple locations within a radius of the core base.

You will oversee access control, monitor activity and respond to incidents while maintaining professional customer service. A valid SIA licence, DBS clearance, and UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Right to Work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS and BS7858 clearance required
• SIA Licence
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work across multiple locations and adapt to changing priorities
• Good understanding of security procedures and health & safety practices
• Remain calm and respond effectively in challenging situations

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, welcoming and customer-focused service across multiple sites within a defined area
• Control access to buildings and ensure security procedures are followed at all times
• Operate security equipment including CCTV, x-ray machines and handheld metal detectors
• Conduct searches in line with site procedures
• Patrol public and restricted areas and communicate with control points
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents and security concerns
• Record and report all incidents and activities accurately
• Support safe and secure movement of people within the building
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and compliance at all times
