Job summary

Unique School Solutions LTD in Sheffield is seeking a School Caretaker to maintain several school sites, perform health and safety checks, and ensure premises are clean and secure. The role involves moving across five sites in the north of the city and may become permanent after a 12-week temporary period.

The position starts ASAP, with 52 weeks per year and hours from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. DBS clearance is required, and prior school-site experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous DIY and maintenance skills.
• Good Health & Safety awareness.
• Resourceful and adaptable; you spot what needs attention and take ownership of the task.
• Flexible attitude and ability to adapt in a quick paced environment moving across sites.
• Experience of locking and unlocking buildings and setting alarms.
• Previous experience of working in a school setting or with young people is desirable.
• The ability to work under direction as well as using own initiative.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance, carrying out health & safety checks and keeping the sites clean and tidy.
• Move across sites as required at the main site near the centre of Sheffield.
• Open and lock up buildings and set alarms as needed.
• Role is full time, 52 weeks per year; may lead to permanent opportunity.
