Job summary

Redline Group Ltd is seeking a Planning & Materials Manager for a world-leading manufacturer of precision engineering and metrology. The role oversees planning, scheduling and materials control across multiple sites in South Wales and Woodchester, aligning production with demand and customer commitments.

• Proven experience in production planning and materials management.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP and production scheduling.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to improve planning processes in a high-technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning, scheduling and materials control activities across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Manage and develop a team of Planners and Material Controllers.
• Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
• Monitor demand, production capacity and inventory levels.
• Develop and improve planning processes, procedures and performance measures.
• Collaborate with Assembly Managers, Procurement, Logistics and Warehousing to align materials and production requirements.
• Oversee inventory management to maintain stock levels and minimise shortages or excess inventory.
• Utilise ERP/MRP systems to support planning, material requirements and scheduling activities.
• Analyse planning and supply chain performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support capacity planning to ensure manufacturing resources are aligned with demand.
• Drive continuous improvement across production planning, stock management and material flow.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across sites to enable communication and decision-making.
• Support business growth by developing robust planning processes and improving operational performance.
