Job summary

ACT Training Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join the Facilities Team in Cardiff and across South Wales. The role focuses on general maintenance, preventative tasks, and prompt repair responses to keep training centres safe and well‑maintained.

Based primarily at Ocean Park House, the operative will travel to other ACT sites, support refurbishment works, keep records, and assist with safety and compliance across multiple locations. Welsh language is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in general maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between ACT sites.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements relating to general maintenance and safe systems of work.
• Experience working across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance to buildings, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance tasks, including water hygiene checks, temperature monitoring and flushing regimes.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, door closers and other fixtures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency repair requests.
• Assist with refurbishment, renovation and decoration projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections; obtain quotations for repairs and materials.
• Work with colleagues, contractors and managers to resolve issues and support sustainability commitments.
• Follow Health & Safety requirements and organisational policies; engage in ongoing training.
