Job summary

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative to work within student accommodation in Cardiff City Centre on a temporary assignment for a minimum of 4 weeks. The role suits someone with practical skills who can carry out maintenance, repairs and upkeep across the accommodation.

The ideal candidate will have previous maintenance or handyman experience, good DIY skills, and a can-do attitude. You will work Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, start ASAP, with weekly or monthly pay

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or handyman roles.
• Practical, can-do attitude.
• Good communication and reliability.
• Painting/decorating experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out checks of vacant student rooms and identify maintenance issues.
• Paint and touch up rooms as required.
• Complete general repairs and fix damaged or broken items.
• Respond to leaks and other maintenance issues.
• Assist with movement of bins and general site duties.
• Carry out basic maintenance across communal areas.
• Prepare rooms and accommodation areas to a high standard.
• Report issues requiring specialist attention.
• Support the wider accommodation team with general duties.

Maintenance Operative – Student Accommodation

Location: Cardiff City Centre

Salary: £15.00 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

Duration: Minimum 4 weeks

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative to work within student accommodation based in Cardiff City Centre on a temporary assignment for a minimum of 4 weeks.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with good practical skills who is confident carrying out general maintenance, repairs and upkeep across the accommodation.

Key responsibilities:

• Carrying out checks of vacant student rooms and identifying any maintenance issues
• Painting and touching up rooms where required
• Completing general repairs and fixing damaged or broken items
• Responding to leaks and other maintenance issues
• Helping with the movement of bins and general site duties
• Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs across communal areas
• Preparing rooms and accommodation areas to a high standard
• Reporting any issues that require specialist attention
• Supporting the wider accommodation team with general duties as required

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, handyman or similar practical role
• Good general DIY and repair skills
• Painting and decorating experience would be advantageous
• A practical, can-do attitude
• Good attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
• Good communication skills and a professional approach
