Job summary

Wolviston Management Services Limited is recruiting an IT Support & Operations Technician to join the IT team, providing deskside and remote support across Greatham, Stockton and Wynyard locations. The role covers user assistance, infrastructure support and IT service delivery in a busy operational environment.

Applicants should have 3+ years in customer-facing IT support, hands-on problem solving, and a proactive approach to IT operations including Microsoft 365 and identity/access management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in customer-facing IT support or a similar IT service role.
• Experience providing deskside and remote user support.
• Ability to take ownership of service requests and incidents.
• Basic understanding of infrastructure, application management, ITIL, and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience working to an ITIL framework.
• Systems or application management experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical records.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with users, IT teams and third-party providers.
• Working towards an IT certification, or a strong commitment to self-development and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on deskside and remote IT support to users across Tioxide locations.
• Take ownership of incidents and service requests through to resolution.
• Support users, devices, infrastructure and IT services.
• Assist IT colleagues and third-party service providers with technical support across site locations.
• Support monitoring, administration and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Develop capability across Microsoft 365, identity and access management, networking, telephony, patching and technical applications.
• Support IT projects, upgrades, technology deployments and site changes.
• Assist with installation, configuration, testing and implementation activity.
• Maintain accurate service, asset and technical records.
• Work in line with agreed IT processes, controls and service management standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve IT service delivery.
• Provide some planned out-of-hours support for patching and system upgrades.
