Job summary

The Orchards Federation is seeking a Premises and Health & Safety Manager to lead safety, facilities, and estate management across four federation sites in Bolton. You will ensure safe, welcoming environments for pupils, staff and visitors, coordinating maintenance, safety checks, and contractor work.

Ideal candidates will have IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications, a track record in premises management, and the ability to drive improvements, manage teams, and respond effectively to emergencies and

Qualifications

• Experience in premises, facilities or site management with a focus on safe, compliant environments.
• Strong organisational, proactive and solution-focused approach across multiple sites.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with leaders, staff, contractors and external agencies.
• Experience supervising or managing staff and developing a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop health and safety compliance across multiple school sites.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance to ensure buildings and grounds are safe and well maintained.
• Manage caretaking teams and develop their skills and effectiveness.
• Coordinate contractors and suppliers, ensuring high standards and value for money.
• Lead on statutory checks, facilities risk assessments, fire safety, COSHH and compliance.
• Undertake site inspections and audits, identify risks and ensure follow-up actions.
