Job summary

Persimmon Homes is seeking a Construction Manager to join the Construction Team, reporting to the Operations Director and overseeing week-to-week site management across multiple developments. The role involves managing build programmes, ensuring conformity with the Persimmon Way, budgets, timelines and quality standards, and coordinating with site management teams and other departments.

Applicants should have housebuilding experience, a valid UK driving license, CSCS card, and preferably SMSTS;

Qualifications

• Experience within the housebuilding construction industry.
• Understanding NHBC, LABC or Premier standards.
• Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• NVQ Level 7 in Construction Site Supervision is desirable, training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple construction projects ensuring on-time completion to specification and quality standards.
• Cost control logistics and resources; implement cost-saving solutions.
• Conduct routine site inspections and ensure compliance with Persimmon Way and health and safety standards.
• Lead workforce HR processes including resourcing, performance management, coaching and training.
• Appoint and retain subcontractors; source and negotiate contracts to meet build targets.
