Job summary

Persimmon Homes is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager in delivering construction projects on time, to budget and to the required quality standards. The role requires strong health and safety awareness and coordination with subcontractors and local authorities.

You will help ensure inspections, materials management, and documentation are carried out to Group standards while collaborating with Sales and Customer Care to keep plot progress on track.

Qualifications

• Experience in the house building industry is essential.
• Understanding of NHBC or LABC/Premier standards.
• Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Current CSCS Card is required.
• SMSTS is preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision is desirable, however training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of the construction site to ensure on-time completion to specification and safety standards.
• Ensure quality and safety inspections are carried out per group guidelines.
• Coordinate with external third-parties (warranty provider, local authorities, utilities) to achieve the build programme.
• Maintain records including inductions, HSE, timesheets and quality checklists.
• Ensure materials are called off timely and stored per guidelines.
• Supervise workforce and subcontractors to meet budget and quality targets.
• Work with Sales and Customer Care to resolve issues and update plot progress.
• Ensure site workforce and visitors comply with Group HSE policy.

What is the role?

The purpose of the role is to assist the Site Manager with the management of the construction site according to company guidelines and goals ensuring all aspects of the project are in conformity with proposed budgets, timelines and construction and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist with the management of a construction site, to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification and safety regulations, while complying with company and construction build and quality standards

Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within quality control standards and carried out in accordance with Group guidelines

Facilitate communication and coordinate activities with external third-parties, such as warranty provider, local authorities and utility companies to ensure achievement of the build programme

Maintaining accurate records for the development including but not limited to, staff inductions, Health, Safety and Environment, timesheets, incident reports, quality control checklists

Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and checked and stored in accordance with Group guidelines

Supervise activity of the workforce, including all subcontractors, to ensure works are completed on time, to the desired quality standards and within budget

Work cohesively with other departments across the Operating Company such as Sales and Customer Care to ensure achievement of targets, for example prompt resolution of customer care issues and timely updates relating to plot progress

Ensure compliance of the site workforce and all visitors with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to minimise incidents and accidents

What experience do I need?

Experience within the house building industry is essential

Understanding of the NHBC or /LABC/Premier standards

Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation

Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred

Full UK Driving Licence is required

Qualified to minimum NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision is desirable, however training will be provided
