Marks Sattin is recruiting a Billing Specialist for a 3-month contract in Greater London. The role supports timely processing of customer billing across multiple sites within the education sector and assists with reconciliations and month-end activities.

The successful candidate will manage regular billing cycles, handle non-standard charges, raise credit notes, and collaborate with operations to resolve queries. 18+ months in finance, strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 18 months' experience within a finance or accounting function, ideally with billing, accounts receivable, or revenue processes.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping and revenue recognition.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.

Responsabilités

• Process and manage regular billing cycles across multiple entities and locations.
• Handle a range of non-standard billing activities, including extracurricular services, events, trips, and other miscellaneous charges.
• Perform billing and deposit reconciliations and support month-end accounting activities.
• Manage billing adjustments, discounts, and account amendments.
• Raise credit notes and process contract-related adjustments where required.
• Liaise with operational teams to resolve billing queries and ensure accurate account information.
• Maintain billing information across third-party customer portals and internal systems.
• Investigate and resolve customer billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within billing processes and controls.
