Job summary

Worcester City Council is seeking a flexible, professional Civil Enforcement Officer to join our city-wide enforcement team. You will patrol city centre and neighbourhood areas, issue notices, and provide clear guidance to the public, while supporting environmental and community safety initiatives.

Role involves working a rota including evenings and weekends, with training provided and uniform and equipment supplied. DBS check is required before appointment.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a calm, confident approach to difficult situations.
• Strong customer service ethos, balancing enforcement with education.
• Willingness to work flexibly across a rota including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling designated areas and addressing contraventions.
• Issuing Penalty Charge Notices and Fixed Penalty Notices per policy.
• Providing clear, courteous advice and guidance to the public.
• Supporting city centre cleansing and enforcement initiatives.
• Using handheld devices, body-worn cameras, and GPS radios to deliver services.
• Collaborating with colleagues, contractors, and external agencies to improve outcomes.
