Job Details

Location: Croydon CR9 0DB

Hours per week: 48 hours

Days: Monday to Friday + Saturday AM

Salary: £35,842.56 + overtime at 1.33x

Job Purpose

To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of assembled products and invoices to customers within corporate guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

1. Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and traffic signs, and giving due regard to other road users.
2. Perform daily checks to ensure the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition, including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
3. Report faults, breakdowns, accidents, or delays.
4. Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle and keep it clean.
5. Ensure sufficient fuel is taken for the day's work.
6. Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
7. Check all orders on the drop sheets and ensure all are loaded on the vehicle.
8. Collect returned goods for credit, mail, delivery bins, and return them to the branch as instructed.
9. Handle damages or breakages promptly and correctly, especially for HazChem procedures.
10. Maintain a smart appearance.
11. Help maintain good customer relations.
12. Participate in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by management.
13. Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

Essential

• A full driving license relevant to the vehicle being driven.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer care.
• Intermediate numeracy and literacy.

Desirable

• Experience in multi-drop delivery driving.
• Route planning experience.
