Job summary

Pertemps is recruiting a Collections and Delivery Driver in Newcastle upon Tyne for a temporary role with Royal Mail. You will sort mail at the local office, load your van, and deliver on foot and by road, using a handheld device to capture signatures.

Shifts run 8am–8pm, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability and up to 35 hours per week. Start date 26/10/2026. A full UK driving licence and fitness for outdoor work are required.

Qualifications

• Valid UK manual driving licence (max 6 points)
• Excellent time management and customer service skills
• Enjoys outdoor work in varying weather
• Previous driving/delivery experience is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

• Sort mail at the local delivery office and load your vehicle
• Deliver letters and parcels by foot and van en route
• Use a handheld device for route navigation and signature capture
• Lift and carry mailbags and parcels of up to 16–20 kg with trolleys when needed
