Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic band 6 MRI radiographer to join a friendly MRI team across Royal Preston Hospital, Chorley District Hospital and a Community Diagnostic Centre mobile scanner. The department operates a 7-day MRI service with a mix of 3T and 1.5T scanners.

Responsibilities

To assist in providing an efficient seven-day MRI service.
To work within the MRI team to deliver the best possible care to patients whilst producing optimum quality diagnostic images.
To be an excellent team player and work alongside other multi-disciplinary teams, communicating effectively to ensure service user satisfaction.
To have the ability to accept responsibility and make decisions.
To participate in departmental audits, research projects and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
To adhere to the current MHRA guidelines along with local policies and practises to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff at all times within the MR department.
To provide guidance and support to junior members of staff & students.
To empathise and reassure patients who are worried, anxious or reluctant to undergo the procedure by providing thoughtful and well constructed responses to their questions.
To participate in an on-call service and extended days.
