Job summary

Dewis Centre for Independent Living in Aberdare is seeking a personal assistant to support a 6-year-old girl with ASD who is nonverbal and uses Makaton. You will accompany her on local visits and swimming, with 3 hours per week in term time and 6 hours in school holidays, all on Sundays.

The role requires patience, safeguarding awareness and flexibility. Salary is £15.30 per hour plus mileage; interview will determine a competitive rate based on experience.

• Ability to communicate using Makaton.

Responsibilities

• Support a 6-year-old girl with ASD during local outings and swimming.
• Provide care on Sundays; ensure child's safety and wellbeing.
• Follow care plan and safeguarding protocols.

Job description
