Job summary

Slough Borough Council is recruiting a Move On & Resettlement Officer to support households in temporary accommodation into longer-term private rented sector housing. The role emphasizes sustainable move-on, independence, and safeguarding.

You will work with internal teams, landlords, and partners to discharge homelessness duties effectively. The post requires DBS, strong communication, and the ability to travel across Slough and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths or relevant experience.
• Training in homelessness or safeguarding.
• Knowledge of Housing and Homelessness legislation.
• Experience with vulnerable households and case management.

Responsibilities

• Move on and resettlement with households in temporary accommodation into longer-term PRS housing.
• Discharge homelessness duties in line with legislation and council policies.
• Support employment, training and independence for households.
• Provide guidance on schools and education for out-of-borough moves.
• Manage a caseload and work with internal teams and external partners.
