Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is representing Slough Council and is seeking a Move On & Resettlement Officer on an initial temporary contract of 3-6 months, with a view to extension or permanency for the right candidate. The role is based at SL1 2EJ, with 2 days in office and 3 days working from home.

The successful candidate will support households in temporary accommodation to secure longer-term Private Rented Sector housing, help identify options, negotiate with landlords, and discharge homelessness

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable households.
• Experience providing housing or resettlement support.
• Experience of negotiating, acquiring and securing properties to discharge duty into the Private Rented Sector.

Responsibilities

• Support households in temporary accommodation to secure longer-term PRS accommodation.
• Work with households to identify realistic housing options and overcome barriers to move-on.
• Acquire and negotiate accommodation from landlords, letting agents, and accommodation providers.
• Support the Council to discharge homelessness duties in line with legislation.
• Support households to access employment, training, and skills opportunities.
• Manage a caseload and develop clear move-on plans.

I am currently representing Slough Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Move On & Resettlement Officer this role will be based at: SL1 2EJ, 2 days in office 3 days WFH

The right candidate will:

The Move On & Resettlement Officer will work with households in temporary accommodation to support and enable their move into longer-term accommodation, primarily within the Private Rented Sector, both inside and outside of Slough. The role supports the Council to discharge its homelessness duties by promoting sustainable move-on, independence, and positive resettlement outcomes.
